Curly Fleece Poodle - Straight Ahead VS Pose to Pose Key Frames

One of these characters is animated straight ahead, while the other is pose to pose.
Does this look like it would be smooth in motion?

Wanna see the clip?

The dog is improve and the girl's pose-to-pose right? I think it's easy to see. Yes I'd like to see the clip again

Oh and I forgot to say it's because your trying to get us to focus on the dog right? and that's why it's made up like that(?)

Some elements look like they will be smooth, while others don't; isn't that the purpose? I need to see the clip now. Not want... need.

These break downs of sequences are really helpful to a beginner animator like me, and shed some light on different ways of achieving an expression or a feeling. Great past couple of posts John!

Yes, please! Would love to see the clip.

Do you know of any Clampett examples where he did this too?

I'm gonna take a guess the poodle is mostly straight ahead, while the girl is pose to pose. At least, going by the Illusion of Life's criteria that's what they'd be done with.

But I'd like to see the clip too.

I believe the dog is straight-ahead, while the girl is pose-to-pose, but it would be great to see the clip.

I remember seeing this type of experimenting on The Ripping Friends. Specifically, it was one of those end bits. "Rip along with The Ripping Friends!"

I understand you brought a clip. Does it need any setup?

I think the poodle is pose to pose and the girl is straight ahead. Can we see the clip please?

My guess is the poodle is pose to pose, and the girl is straight ahead. Beyond the fact that the poodle is taking many different poses and such, the girl is also reacting to the poodle..
I'd love to see the clip as well.

Even if you didn't have the frames to see, you could figure out that it's the less-zany character - the girl - who is pose-to-pose. By plotting out her movements and reactions in advance, you have a timeline against which the dog can be matched up easily with X number of frames at a time, allowing the spontaneity of each frame to come through within an organized plan.

Yes, please! Clip! I think I have a very old Quicktime of this from the old Spumco site - so hopefully you've got something bigger and crisper!

Yeah these Posts are Great!!! I wanna see!! yes pleeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaase!!!!!! You've made me crazy about animation... my children are hungry but I gotta make these characters dance and move around!!! hehehe
No this is great stuff!!
In yesterday's post...
In the Bee fight Camplett cartoon, when the girlfrined bee comes in, she disapears for a couple of frames, would that be mistake or on pupose??
Man!! the Clampett itch clip is absolute gold!!! when he's scratching his but, there are framed there that are just pure movement, it's crazy!! I noticed that in a Ren & Stimpy cartoon years ago... there is abit where Ren's head moves side ways and there are a few frames that Ren has four eyes, I love that stuff!...With the really short clip of Solid Ivory, you can tell how well timed it all is, from one note/beat to the next, the action is perfect.... anyway these are things I've noticed... thanks for making me see and notice these things,

In the Bjork clip I like how you used the whole screen and the depth of plane also, Yeah it is mad how all the different drawings join together to make a crazy dance, is it the slop, or the caveman bop?
I have so much stuff to learn!! thanks a million!

It's kinda hard to tell without seeing the flow of animation, but my hunch is dog is pose - pose (given the strong keys) and the girl is straight ahead (her motion seems to have a general flow rather than any strong keys).

would be great to learn which is really which !!
