Here, John is following instructions in the lessons.
He is making solid shapes, each of which interweaves and connects to their shapes within the overall structure.
I only had minor corrections and I posted them at his own blog. (Porky could use some upper arm structure under his sleeve-that connects to his shoulder.)

I know that's just Popeye's ear, but the drawing suggests otherwise... :)
I was thinking that too.
Hey John!
I did one layout drawing of one your story sketches... I'm working on some more sketches, I'm going to layout the big chew pose drawing you did from this story too... Cause that one is funny:P
Here
Cheers man
Hey John, I had a question that doesn't really apply to the post but hope you will answer it. I have a lot of the Ren and Stimpy comic books Marvel did in the early 90's, I was wondering how much control you had on those if any?
The thing with Popeye's ear illustrates the complications of translating 3D to two dimensional pen and ink.
John is indeed a fine illustrator.
Popeye giving us the finger! Woo!
Heh, I don't think Popeye wanted me to draw him... Thanks for all your help, John!
John K, you're alright too. :P
