I miss how they made smoking look so cool. All the cool people on TV and magazines and movies smoking every place you looked made you really think about it. Diabolical.
I just watched a bunch of banned commercials on YouTub* and they even had Fred and Barney smoking. Makes that Joe Camel look lame in comparison. When I was young, you could see smoking and alcohol in a positive light every single day. Cause they were trying hard to aim their ads at kids.
Now they advertise prescription meds with crazy unappealing ads that dont tell you anything. Three cheers for the AMA.....booooo
The guy getting ready to shoot him some pangolins is cool. Back then Americans knew that if something was funny-looking and unusual, it was evil and dangerous, no matter how docile. The good old days!
Love those vintage ads. Since i like trains, the train ad is especially cool. I rode the North Coast Limited many years ago, & I can say, for those who have never done so, (probably everybody): riding in a dome car was the epitome of travel. The NP dining cars served with every meal, a baked potato the size of your head. And, what other form of transprotation would hang a rifle on the wall for decoration?

John: That ad for Jean Marie Farina Cologne is so beautifully drawn, and the placement of the product is understated yet prominent. Nipples. -- Mykal
i like the illustration of the guy getting attacked by two pangolins
Those are so good, it makes want to buy whatevers on there.
I especially like the one where the lady has hard nipples.
So what are some examples of bad page layouts?
These are so much fun to look at by the way. It's always like eating up candy when you post these vintage goodies on here.

Hey John, I know this is off-topic, but could you take a quick look at this clean-up I did? Thanks!
Why else would anyone get married?
funny comic for people to read
All this, And a Connie, too!
I laughed so hard at the ad of the girl with bad breath. I'm a terrible person.

Maybe the pangolins think he's a big tree bug.

The sports trails reminded me of a collection I found once:
Manly magazines
Unfortunately I never bookmarked it.
