This commercial made me wonder why they don't just simply run these old Trix ads instead of constantly making new ones that don't even come close to how genius the design and quality of this one is. I'm sure young children today would love to see something like this. Just look at how long that same animated Tootsie Pop ad has been on TV because of it's huge success.
I agree, these old commercials always get to the point, while the new ones focus too much about having lots of professional-looking computer generated commercials that are only eye candy. The old commercials, and even old music videos actually make something that gets to the point. That's all kids and adults want really. Also, John, I made a big article about Ren and Stimpy (maybe not as big as you think) but I dedicated it to you, so I thought maybe you'd want to give it a read. Here's the link: http://www.retrojunk.com/details_articles/7083/ Hope you enjoy it!.
Nice to see the stuff I grew up with but was too young to appreciate!
Also just finished ADULT PARTY CARTOON again, several times - wikipedia mentioned there were two other episodes that haven't yet made it to DVD. Hope they show up soon!

That's sad! He can't even have them in his own dreams! he's like the greek tragedy of the cereal world!

I actually remember that ad.
I also remember thinking (as a quite young kid), "give the damn rabbit Trix. They taste like crap."
Ah, that's wonderful :)
John, i did some analysis of some of Raphael's preparatory cartoons if you/anyone's interested to see:

shows concept art of Disney's forthcoming princess reboot.
Good? Bad? Ugly (lots of CGI glitz there)?
Even though there's kind of a flat style going on, it's still better drafted and a thousand times better to look at than the UPA wanna-be's.
